Riccardo M Sahiti , born as a Rom in former Jugoslawia, completed his studies in conducting and music education at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade with Prof. Stanko Sepic in 1990 . He deepened this training phase by conducting opera symphonies at the PI Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Prof. Yuri Ivanovich Simonov and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main with Prof. Jirí Stárek.
He attended master classes with Prof. Jorma Panula and Péter Eötvös . He gained conducting experience before orchestras such as the Belgrade Philharmonic, the Silesian Philharmonic Katowice, the Beograd Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Savarija Szombathely Symphony Orchestra, Hungary.
Riccardo M Sahiti has been the artistic director and conductor of the Roma and Sinti Philharmonic Orchestra since 2002. In 2016, he received the Federal Cross of Merit from Federal President Joachim Gauck for his work with the Roma and Sinti Philharmonic.
The city of Frankfurt am Main distinguished him as an "outstanding personality with a migration background".
